Effect of grafting on watermelon growth and yield Thai Agricultural

Wilt of watermelon especially caused by Fusarium is a common and serious problem all over the world. Grafting with bottle gourd is a unique solution to control wilt of watermelon. The experiment was conducted in the coastal region of Bangladesh with the direct involvement of the farmers. All the grafted watermelon plants remain alive up to harvesting while more than one-third non-grafted plants died from vegetative to fruiting stage. Fruit yield was observed one and half times higher in grafted fields as compared to non-grafted counterparts.

A study was performed to evaluate the effects of melamine (Me) and urea formaldehyde (UF) combinations in diets on growth performance, and characterization of toxicity appearance. The combinations of three levels of Me and UF (0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%) were conducted with one control (no addition) in a completely randomized design (CRD). Four hundred and eighty mixed-sex fish with the initial weight of 9.67±0.03 g were assigned to 10 dietary treatments with 3 replications and fed for 6 weeks. Effects of sowing depths on growth and rooting patterns of cowpea and mungbean in a deep sand with shallow water table Thai Agricultural

In some dry-season cropping areas of northeast Thailand, farmers can grow selected annual legumes without irrigation by deep seeding. This cropping system seems to depend on capillary water rising from a shallow water table and seems to be suitable for peanut and cowpea but not other legumes. Seedlings planted by deep seeding might produce more roots under the seed position and could facilitate plants to absorb more water in deep soil because their roots were closer to water table. Quality of forage sorghum at second cut on milk production Thai Agricultural

This study was conducted to determine effects of quality of purple guinea grass (Panicum maximum TD 58) and forage sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) at second cut on dry matter intake, milk production, liveweigh change, metabolic profiles and economic return in dairy cows. Using twelve multiparous cows. Two groups (six cows in each groups) of GT=75 percent Holstein Freesian dairy cows were imposed by Group comparison. Group 1 were fed fresh purple guinea grass. While in group 2, cows were fed fresh forage sorghum, All the cows were also supplemented with concentrate (18.33 percent CP, 70 percent TDN) twice daily at milking (i.e. at 05.00 am. and 02.00 pm.). White leaf disease of sugarcane, which is more damage to economic crops in Thailand. It is infectedby phytoplasma pathogenic and transmitted plant by leafhoppers vector. There are several symptoms that indicate the white colour, white-green and yellow leaf etc. The symptoms are affecting to sugarcane growth and yield vary according to the intensity of the symptoms. The most severe were effect on the death and no yield. There is no way the get rid phytoplasma and no disease-resistant varieties. This research leads to understand the mechanism of the effect of phytoplasma to damage sucarcane in the expression of the white leaf disease symptoms. การคัดเลือก Ecorace ไหมอีรี่เพื่อการปรับปรุงพันธุ์ Thai Agricultural

The selection of eri silkworm ecorace with high yield and distinct in morphological character is necessary for variety improvement. Five eri silkworm ecoraces, SaKKU1, SaKKU2, SaKKU3, SaKKU4 and SaKKU5 were surveyed and derived in country or from academic cooperation in international level. All ecoraces were cultured using castor leaves of TCO101 variety as food plant at 25±2 °C, 80±5%R.H. Based on morphological characters, there were similar except body of the 5th instar larva of SaKKU1 was covered with white powder and ripe larva showing shiny dominant yellow color.
